A mid 20th century sterling silver and rose gold powder compact, with engine turned design all over and rose gold thumbpiece clasp to front. Lid opens to reveal mirror to the inside of the lid with gilded powder compartment with mesh and pads. Hallmarked inside for London, 1946 by maker David Sutton & Sons. In excellent condition with some marks to the mirror, lid closes tightly. Contained in original purple leather sleeve case with cutout for thumbpiece (tested as gold but unmarked). 6.5cm x 6.5cm x 1.0cm high (thumbpiece). 80g.
