An antique art deco period American sterling silver combination powder compact, sovereign or coin case and card or note holder. With engraved Art Deco wreath design to lid with engraved monogram. Base with engraved date JUNE 3 - 1919. Inside with two coin holders, one for full and one for half sovereigns, a square mirror, hinged to reveal a powder compartment and sprung holder inside the lid for calling cards or bank notes, impressed STERLING 741 with maker's mark. In excellent overall condition, tight closing and good hinges, no major dents or damage, some light wear and marks. 9.3cm x 6.0cm x 1.5cm deep. 98.6g.
